Welcome World, as Africa celebrates her finest hour with landmark world attention.
Hello World and welcome to South Africa, the host of the 2110 edition of the World Cup.
It is a tournament that will unite the entire World in one spirit of love, happiness, jubilation and at times, sombre especially for those teams that are not destined to make much progress as the tournament goes on.
World Cup is not really about winning at all cost, but about participation and a real test of seriousness and determination to prove to the world the texture of each nation’s strong will and ability to outdo others especially in a world full of challenges in all ramifications of life; economic, social, technology and so on and so forth.
This time, it’s on the field of football play and we welcome all participants, wishing them divine protection throughout the tournament.
One thing is unique about his year’s World Cup. It is the first time an African country is playing host to the best sport on the surface of the earth.
For this reason alone, the tournament apart from uniting the world had brought together Africa and Africans in a much more unique way, ditching all political, social, economics and tribal sentiments.
As a continent once referred to as dark and once relegated as a non-performing, there is cause for celebration and wild jubilation.
It is important to mention that Africa now plays a very crucial role on the world stage, especially on the economic front.
In recent times, the attention of the world has been diverted to the continent in a new wave of scrambling because of her economic potentials.
A new era of hope therefore has kicked off with the mighty nations looking for partnership with those African countries with lots of economic prospect with all looking for mutual and cordial engagements. The world cup has created a good forum for this and more exposure and engagements.
This is a real break through period as the continent for once now is on focus with so many unfolding scenes of beauty and attractions- such that had long been deliberately swept under the carpet by powerful forces – those that refuse to see the good side and continually drag down and dowsing with terrible negativity a deprived and much God endowed continent with richness and glory.
For those reasons, there is a cause for celebration now that history is changing in Africa.
Africa should use this opportunity to tell the world she had attained a new level of modernisation and good intention- that she had moved away from the old tag of black continent drawn from long history of military rule and social injustice.
We must tell the world we are now a continent of good social justice and political emancipation and must use the opportunity of the World cup to pass a positive message to the first world that the continent is ready for rapid developmental change and transformation. That Africa needs assistance from other developed nation’s of the world to achieve a much deserved economic and social breakthrough.
We should as a continent endeavor to convince the world that corruption, nepotism, godfatherism, shameless embezzlement and undue exploitation of the powerless less privileged Africans are now a thing of the past.
We congratulate President Jacob Zuma for his generosity in hosting the tournament and his hospitality in welcoming thousand from across the world to South Africa. We must work towards a new order of live elevation of the masses and a new designed order of African unity and emancipation of the life of the people especially as the world draws its attention in the spirit of 2010 world Cup.
Long live, South Africa, long live Africa.
