Contrary to general expectations following media reports  that former EFCC Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu may be holding Action congress Presidential candidacy this month end, the party could be proving all wrong as it is  heading towards disappointing million of Nigerians on the choice.

The Presidential candidacy pendulum could be pointing to  another  young northerner who is curently a gpovernor.

Sources hinted EMNnews that the choice would startle the nation when announced. this month end.

Sources said AC’s political oracle may not have  picked Ribadu, but rather, another vibrant young northern youth whose credentials run parallel to Nuhu  Ribadu.

Sources said even though, the press had speculated massively about the party’s choice, there are likelihood that the choice is a northern governor with very much impeccable record of good act and political and academic  credentials.

Former EFCC chairman, Nuhu Ribadu, speaking to online Newspaper, Sahara Reporters during the week confirmed that he has been approached by many bidders but have not  reached the point where he can make a definitive declaration about running for the office of president.

He admitted however, that he has been approached by several political groups and non-political party actors, including Nigerian youth, women and elders who are clamouring for change in Nigeria.

He was responding to pres report close to his  home near Washington DC, in response to reports in Nigeria  that he is being considered as the presidential candidate by assorted parties in a coalition led by the Action Congress,

The former Police topshot however reaffirmed his faith in the nation, saying:”I have strong interest in the future of Nigeria and its citizens, I have strong interest in helping to form, change or redirect the destiny of our nation in the right direction this time around and  I am convinced that the country deserves better leadership.”

Asked if he thinks he can muster enough financial power to run for office in a country where money defines everything, he said that it is not true that money determines everything in Nigeria, adding that that conception comes from the prebendal and predatory politics of a tiny cabal within the system.  Citing his experience at the EFCC, Mr. Ribadu said he fought the big money men with little resources while at the Commission and still succeeded in bringing many of them to justice.

He said whatever decisions he would take would depend on the consensus of the majority of Nigerians across the country and the rest of the world. Definitely, I will be participating in the process of change already initiated by ordinary Nigerians on the streets of Nigeria, the Internet, in various town hall meetings, community groups, churches, mosques and other traditional places of worship and agitation for positive change.”

Seeking to make his position clear, he said, “These are my words, they are not political messages. I have never done anything on my own; even at the EFCC I was able to succeed because I had the support of the Nigerian masses.  They protected me, shielded me, prayed for me and my family and in some cases shared their meals and shelter with me.”

Ever since the announcement of his link to the Action Congress, Nigerians across the world have been agog with excitement with thousand throwing their weight behind him as one of the  nation’s last hopes especially in the absence of formidable  opposition to the ruling party as the nation still stands at the mercy of People’s Democratic Party.

The nation has been eager to have a moving force youthful Presidential candidature especially in the light of the current ruling  People’s Democratic (PDP) government not facing a major threat or opposition in it’s current political dispensation.

Nigerians are throwing their weights behind Ribadu as a moving force for the nation’s current political climate which hasn’t provided any alternative to PDP or even create checks and balances in the wake of the ruling party’s many bunglings.
