An Ibadan appeal court has nullified the election of Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola of Oyo state following a judgement in a case brought against the governor by AC candidate, Engineer Rauf Aregbesola who had challenged the validity of the governor’s election in 2007.
A Magistrate court in Nigerian has charged an Iranian and three Nigerians for arms trafficking in connection with an arms shipment to the country. The haul of arms was seized last month at Apapa ports, Nigeria’s busiest port.

OSOGBO, the Osun State capital, was calm on Thursday, as the people await the judgment of the Court of Appeal in Ibadan, Oyo State, on the petition filed by the governorship candidate of the Action Congress (AC) in the April 2007 election, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, against the declaration of Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the election.
