Less than three hours after delegates at a national conference of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) handed presidential torch bearer ticket to Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, Lagos has ushered in another landmark and historical political party leadership representation.
Action Congress of Nigeria, (AC), the nation’s frontline opposition party has stunned the world with the nomination of former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as the party’s presidential torch bearer for April election.
Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) resolved its presidential leadership logjam, feeling the vacuum at the party’s national convention holding in Lagos on Friday.
Now, the former anti corruption czar will square up with President Jonathan whose current mandate has injected to him more determination, zeal and willingness to push the nation forward from the current hopelessness.
Jonathan has minced no words in letting know that his heart aches for the country and that a real mandate, and not a borrowed one from previous mandate will inject into him a real action.

I want you to know that I will keep hope alive; I want you to know that your time has come.

He expressed his innate feelings last year when the nation was harrassed and assaulted by a group of people terrorising the nation and bombing the venue of the nations 50th anniversary Independence celebration: “I implore Nigerians to go about their normal businesses and should not be intimidated or become paranoid over the cowardly act of a few Nigerians who obviously do not have the love of this country at heart.

Jonathan’ message speaks volume; an expression of anger and serious regret that the nation had been seriously mis-navigated, abused raped, humiliated, suppressed deprived and ridiculed by a strong mafia group.

He was proclaimed winner after other contestants withdrew from the contest in a similar national conference of party delegates aacclaimed winner by a general vote of party delegates across the country.
With Mr. Ribadu squaring up against Goodluck Jonathan, the candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) who defeated his rival at the PDP national convention early on Friday morning in Abuja, Nigeria seems to be heading towards a new era of political,economic, social, educational and moral transformation.
The other political parties coming up with their presidential candidacy are up for a real political challenge as the duo of Ribadu and Jonathan appear unassailable as the nation is now pushed by divine intervention towards a new era of life turn around for the better of the people and goodness of the citizens.
