Women Forum want more power for Celestial women as Church holds thanksgiving week

A women empowering conference has stressed the need for more power in Celestial Church of Christ to be given to women so they can get involved in efforts to rejuvenate the Church.
Such power, if given will encourage a more women participatory role in the work of Evangelism and would take the Church to a higher level. They stressed the need to get more involved in works of evangelism and spiritual development.
During the forum, the women expressed regrets that less powers are given to Celestial women fold and the level of women involvement in the Church activities are pegged, thereby making female colleagues incapacitated in using to the full strength their well endowed talents.
They want Celestial women to fill up certain gaps in dispensing spiritual duties in order to take the Church to a better level of development.

The issue came to fore during a week-long Harvest celebration activities at the Celestial Church of Christ( Living Word Parish) in London where some Women Christian devotees have been invited to speak on : “ The roles of women in the Church Management and Leadership”.
The concerned good women expressed their reservations about the limitations of women activities in Celestial Church of Christ.
The call was made during a week long activities earmarked to prepare for the 2011 Harvest thanks giving celebration coming up in London.
This year’s harvest has been titled “Positive Solution discovery” and is holding on Sunday July 10 2011.
Mother Celestial Titilayo Nunayan of Celestial Church of Christst, Rehoboth Parish, leading a league of speakers during the women conference said the clamour was not advocating for any competition with menfolk but that Celestial women should be more proactive in their spiritual and physical duties in the Church.
She claimed Celestial women have been deprived in so many ways and dissuaded from using to full potential many God-given inspirational talents, that could have benefitted the Church immensely.
“Celestial Church, as a distinct Church has its peculiarity in following spiritual doctrine. Such doctrine has limited the extent of women duties in the Church and through certain existing laws the role of women has been limited in the day- to- day activities. She wants the trend to change.
She submitted that it was time to reassess the situation and make women in Celestial Church more useful, dutiful and proactive.
“The time is now to relax the rules so that the Church will be taken further to higher height through women involvement in Church activities “, she said.
Speaking earlier, Deaconess Esther Ajani of Christ Ressurection Power Ministry who opened the Conference with her own speech enjoined women in general to lay good example to today’s youths and many coming generations through good behavior and service to humanity.
She said that today’s generation of women in the church should not sway in their roles as good examples to non-believers, adding that women owe the duty of winning more souls to God through good conduct and positive behaviours.
In her contribution, Superior Senior Elder Sister Bukky Animashaun of Celestial Church of Christ, Alafia Parish spoke on discipline in service to God.
According to her, many women today have led the young children astray through lack of attention, which had created so much disparity between the family pyramid. She pointed to the fact that many parents have abdicated their roles in the house by giving more dedication to jobs and social life at the expense of their children and family as a whole. She appealed for a change of attitude and wants more closeness within the family.
Superior Animashaun spoke on the need for women to support their husbands, urging them to cultivate a habit of listening to their husbands in order to build good homes and families adding giving enough attention to the family should be uncompromising.
She stressed the need for women to exhibit utmost endurance, patience, humility and tolerance and act as Christ ambassadors to create a solid base for a successful Church and fasmily establishment.

The week was dedicated for the cause of the harvest with visits to Charity homes, Youth lectures and empowerment.
Evangelist John Olubunmi Olufawo led a group of youths in a youth empowering move to speak on the role of youths in the future of Celestial Church.
Senior Evangelist Bolaji Bamishaye, who led a mercy day service titled: The Lord shall make HIS face shine upon you” also on Wednesday urged members of the Church to show more dedication to God through thanks offering and readiness to work in the vineyard.
On Friday, a prophetic Ministration of Positive Solution Discovery was held by the Celestial Prophetic Ministry, United Kingdom and Northern Ireland
The Shepherd of CCC (Living Word Parish). Superior Evangelist Adeolu Oloyede expressed his gratitude to all the Harvest week celebrations co- ordinators, urging members of the public to attend this years Harvest to receive divine blessings.
