Olori Bolanle, former Deji of Akureland Oba Adesina’s strayed wife dies of cardiac arrest
Olori Bolanle Adesina, the former wife of the deposed Deji of Akure, Oba Oluwadamilare Adesina (Osupa111) has died.
Unconfirmed report claimed the young Olori died of cardiac arrest in a private hospital in Maryland, Lagos. Her body has been taken to Akure, Ondo State Capital for burial.
The immediate past Deji, Oba Oluwadamilare Adepoju Adesina (Osupatadola 111) came into national and international focus when he was entangled in a major assault scandal with one of his palace Oloris last year May.
The revered community leader allegedly acted beyond belief when he traced Olori Bolanle, who had earlier packed out of the palace to reside with her family on Hospital road, Akure, where the king, accompanied by some palace messengers assaulted her causing her grossly skin and body mutilations.
The assault case scenario was the climax of months of feuding between the King and many of his swayed and strayed King makers who had ealier sought for his sack as they entangled in disagreement over issues concerning the stool.

The Kingmakers until the issue of Olori surfaced had demanded for the royal father’s abdication, accusing the King of flouting the rules guiding the seat of Deji and that of the tradition and culture of Akureland royal stool.
Among other accusations, the Akureland Kingmakers in a major stand-off accused the Oba of depriving them of their financial royal dues and allegedly acting beyond his given roles as a traditional ruler.
He was allegedly assaulting market women for royalties and taking over lands illegally, an action they viewed as demeaning to the stool. He was also accused of unwarranted land seizures and assaulting land owners.
As the Kingmakers planned the ousting of the King,Oba Osupa was enjoying the support of the Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko who at one time moved the Oba to his office to rescue him from sponsored assailants.
The Governor at a point threatened the Kingmakers with dissolution holding the position that only the Office of the Governor had the legal right to depose the Oba. It was then a bitter feuding.
However, the last straw came when Oba Osupa visited the Olori’s residence in the company of some of his palace staff members, assaulting her publicly and causing her bodily harm.
The public confrontation was the result of a bitter engagement between the duo which led the Olori who abdicated her palace haven for a less humbled family quarters on hospital road in Akure.
The Olori was assaulted and unconfirmed sources said that the King himself was rough handled by the Olor’si sympathisers and even wrestled the King to the ground in an amazing royal embarrassment.
There were then scenes of vandalised cars and public free fighting in front of the Olori’s family home.
The King, then only about three years on the thrown lost the support of the governor as local and international media turned on the alleged assault lambasting such disgraceful act by a Yoruba first class rated ruler. At a point the Federal security services were called upon to intervene as Governor Mimmiko upheld the traditional norm of the town avoiding to be drawn into unwarranted confrontation with the royal stool.
The Federal Police at a time was called in to press for criminal charges.
The monarch’s uncivilised action of molesting and assaulting his wife in the public eventually led to his being deposed and being forced to exile after his eventual banishment from Akureland for a period of six months.
At a time, a remorsed Oba Osupa was said to have sought ancestral spiritual guide when he moved to the bush after the incident to consult the gods and ask for forgiveness. His resort however was not enough to save him from being deposed.
