Nigerians at home and across the world are celebrating today another landmark celebration; the 51st Independence of our dear nation and the feel of freedom in all its definitions.
To many there is nothing to celebrate, but to many more, there is cause for celebration especially with our nation coming this far with such stormy history, having faced mental and psychological persecution in the hands of our political leaders.
Our nation for long had faced political strangulation, economic deprivation and social dispossession of the highest magnitude.
But the nation remains intact and strong, volatile but still very much amendable with self determination and sacred loyalty. We are bound to reach the promise land.
With the popular saying that, the greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising each time you that you fall, it is with this note that the nation, having risen from various stormy falls deserves a big accolade and big applause. Congratulations Nigeria!
We as a people are unique, thinking from the perspectives of our multi facet culture, tradition, social, economic and political differences.
Many nations of the world with the same texture of existence are not very lucky to look back and tell their stories.
We as a people remain united, despite our political differences and social divergence. Let us look back and make adjustments where necessary. Let us think positive and shun betrayal of our nation. Let us celebrate and awaken the spirit of our past heroes.

As for those heroes, who died for our today’s emancipation, let us look back and appreciate their fight for freedom and kindled light for a better future of real achievement.
It is not over, Let us pick the pieces of our past and make a real change for the future. Let our leaders have a change of heart and impact positively so we can still have a nation to call ours.

Many are not as lucky as we are today. Let us look back and have a reflection that had our past heroes not have thought of the foresight to build a nation for an independent future, where would we be today as a nation?. Let us build a fuitful future for our generations coming. Let our political leaders shun politics of self aggrandizement and tribalism. Let our leadership think for the people and for the nation as a whole and not only for themselves. Arise Nigeria! Happy 51st Independence anniversary. Nigeria shall overcome!
