We are most disappointed that the issue of Militancy alone and not “the real root causes of Militancy” have been totally ignored and not addressed!!!
The hand in glove intimate collaboration of “corrupt Government Officials and Oil Companies” who have been exploiting the Niger Delta for decades, and who do little to re-imburse or afford any decent social structure for Niger Delta inhabitants, let alone stop the health-destroying gas flaring and pollution of the Niger Delta. Also whose response to the plaintif cries of those who see no other way forward with the corrupt Nigerian Government (since long before Governer Obasanjo´s political office) to make their poor voices heard to the rest of the world other than by destruction of oil pipelines and the like.
And what response has the Nigerian Government given to these exploited who have become “Activists for their Local Village Communities”?
The response has been “mass murders of civillians and Genocide” of these exploitied people by means of the Joint Task Force, Military & Police of Nigeria.
Nigeria is such a wealthy country which is mismanaged due to corruption.
Attention and money should be invested into:
1) Pumping back the money into the impoverished, wealth-stripped and polluted Niger Delta communities. A Niger-Delta-Cleanup-Project with work, schools and hospitals for all. Plus compensation for each family.
- Thereby removing the root causes and reasons for Militancy, poverty, deep frustration and anger of it´s citizens. – Unless such issues are attended to thoroughly, then these problems will NEVER be solved.
2) In National Security, not being afraid to call on other nations for help in establishing such, establishing real democratic justice, not the present corrupt prison injustices of Nigeria, and Police Prison torture of victims, along with fair trial of any criminal, or human activists seeking democratic justice.
Also not allowing the fear-mongering tactics of a handful of Boko Haram terrorists to lame and terrify an entire Nation.
We in the Shengen Countries in Europe have to deal with the aftermath of severely traumatized individuals who had to flee from the injustices of the terror and corruption and Genocide of their entire families and friends due to Nigeria´s own JTF.
Nigeria it is time for you to wake up, and start making your Nation into a peaceful and safe and wealthy one. You are all brothers in Nigeria, unite in making your Nigeria one that the rest of the world can look up to and respect!!!
