The London Office of the Nigeria High Commission has paid a condolence visit to the family of
of Mayor Tayo Situ, who died last Monday after an unsuccessful battle with cancer.

The Embassy visit was also aimed at commiserating with London Borough of Southwark, where Mr Situ is the number 1 citizen as the Mayor of the Borough.

New e-passport: Nigeria Government shifts deadline to April

The deadline for the obtaining of the new Nigerian E-passport otherwise known as ECOWAS passport has been extended to April next year, according to government sources.

The original deadline had been fixed for December 31, 2010 for the phasing out of the old Machine Readable Passport (MRP), following the introduction of the new electronically processed passport by the Federal government.

Going by the original deadline, all existing passport that is not of the new ECOWAS e- passport would be void.
